The launch night at Baseline kicked off with a banging start with the club bursting at the seems for most of the night and the party lasting till 5 in the morning. This will now be a weekly affair where you can get your weekly dosage of house and hip-hop.

As per usual it will be spread over two floors and we will be bringing you the best of Hip-Hop/R&B/Acid Jazz vs. Deep/Funky/Tech/Tribal House Grooves.

FLOOR 1:

With special guest Suga (GHFM) laying down her R&B Flavas-Girl Power!!!! Sholto, who has been around for many yrs, is a pioneer in his own right (from the early days at Browns to Pharcyde to currently everywhere). He’s got a selection that dates back to the very early days when clubbing started in CT and he will be laying down some Acid Jazz to some classic Hip Hop Sholto style!

Redds & Angel, who needs no introduction to the CT massive will be laying down their groove every week. Willie & Thurston (Hip-Hop brothers) will be doing some deck damage with their blend of Hip Hop funk. Tyrone (GHFM) will be making a special appearances.

FLOOR 2:

Charl Chaka, back from the UK, where he played all over London and held residencies at the world famous Heaven among others as well as warming up weekly for the legendary caner/nutter Nicky Holloway at the Velvet Underground, which is home to Carl Cox’s Ultimate Base night. Also running the successful “Entra Mi Casa” @ Life in Stellenbosch.

Darren Afrika needs no introduction as he has been around since the birth of the scene from his days at Bar-A-Go Go and Bar Do-Me. As well as a host of international clubs overseas in Turkey, London, Greece and Ireland.

Dean Fuel has set the scene alight with his fuel-injected house sets from a host of CT clubs- a future star- watch this space. DJ Steppa, one of the original Groove Gangstaz @ Charl’s Entra Mi Casa is one of the nu-breed DJ’s coming out of Cape Town Matt James a true geezer, been around in Cape Town for a year now with many years experience in London & Ibiza. He will be laying down his “spaced out beats” on a regular basis.

DJ 12 Inch a true underground DJ use to be a regular at the infamous “Rise Up” parties back in the day. He also will be gracing the dex at Fusion frequently.
