So Durban hip hop could be back on track while poison city’s dj’s,mc’s and bboys have tried to find a club that would help them take the culture forward but have been been fucked around by club owners and promoters greedy for a few extra Rands.

But now Durbans underground may have found a monthly home at the Winston Pub on the corner of Clark & Umbilo roads.  The first event went down with dj(turntabalist) crew the cheap lazy Maggots – dj Cause, Lapse and MG Fresh who played blends of old school hiphop and breaks with new underground sounds with the main attraction being the three performing a dmc style 1 hour set with all three djs on 4 turntables.  It was the best use of turntables ever in Durban so if the Chop Su Cru or Boogie Down Knights wanna battle you know where to come just bring your own body bags we dont have medical aid.  Also a highly noteable mention to all the bboys who got down to some mad shit on the cardbord (takin it back to the old school) and mc’c illuminating shadows( kingbabar aka phazewon & creem.e.baggins) and kblaq who rocked the mic to various phat instrumentals so for all real hiphop heads wannabees and honeys head to the Winston Pub on the first Saturday of every month only R10 entrance and quarts are R7 and the bathrooms are tagger/marker/sticker friendly peace
