Yes, another exlcusive interview. Peep it!

WHEN RAPPERS ATTACK, your new album, when is it dropping and can you tell us a bit about it and who’s gonna feature on it?

The LP is slated to drop in January 2003. It’s not really a conceptual album, it’s more of a collection of songs venting against lesser mc’s, biters and “know it all” critics.

The only guest appearance on the LP is Eastern Conference labelmate “Cage”. (I hate buying albums filled with unnecessary team-ups – I could’ve just picked up a mixtape.

As many hip hop purists out there will know, you were part of the legendary Artifacts, you bio does not mention why ya’ll split, can you tell us?

All I’m willing to say is creative differences. Times change, people change, opinions change.

In addition to being an emcee you are also a graffiiti artist, how is the graffiti scene doing right now in your area? Are you doing walls or trains?

Walls – strictly walls. My painting is not “Industry Hype”.. if I can paint without getting arrested, it’s all good, but the good old days are long gone. I’m not a teenager, jail time and fines are nothing nice, but I still paint in select areas.

What are your thoughts on all this bling bling crap that’s all over the media now?

Toe each his own, showing what you have may seem self-fulfiling, but it’s a supply and demand situation. Apparently there is a market for it, if nobody wanted to hear it, nobody would buy it.

Do you freestyle? If so have you had any memorable battles?

I freestyle, but it’s mostly for self-gratification. In battles I switch back and forth from “off the top of the head” improvisations and a collection of pre-written “darts”. When battling, 50 % of what the other mc says doesn’t even register, I’m planning my next attack.

What are your thoughts on bootlegging on the net?

I think anything that takes money out an artists pocket is foul. Exposure is one thing, blatantly ripping off an artist/group is another.

Are you affilliated with any crews and if so are they coming out with albums soon?

The Boom Skwad, currently getting material together for an internet LP (DJ Porno, Melo Wax and Jburnzjaya). Also the Weathermen (Cage, Copywrite, Yak Ballz, Caumtao) and others currently compiling songs for an Eastern Conference Records release.

Which artists are you feeling right now and what artists would you like to work with soon?

Right now, in the current state of hip hop, I’m only feeling my crew (Boom Skwad) and would really like to see all of us shine…I would like to work with producers like Pete Rock and DJ Premier (but would need a substantial budget to accomodate their fees).

Do you think the hip hop community in your area are ready for hip hop from another country?

The Hip Hop community in “my” area ain’t even ready for hip hop from another state! The radio stations we have are so one-sided, the buying audience is usually brain dead.

What are your thoughts on performing in Africa?

Send the check, pay the fees, put me in a hotel and “let’s get it on”.

Who does your production?

DJ Porno, RJD2, Camutao, J-Zone, and whoever has “the heat”….

Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, any last words?

Thanks for taking time out to heat me out…Big ups to “Ma-D” for keeping me focused, Boomskwad for having my back, Eastern Conference All-Stars, Weathermen, and peace to every graffiti crew and MC/DJ Crew I ever ran with from 1980 to now…One!
