Little Brother is the name but if you hear the music you will find its much bigger than what you expected. Big ups to Little Brother can you give us the lineup of the L.B team?

The members of Little Brother are, Phonte, Big Pooh, and 9th Wonder.

You guys rep the Tar Hills if I’m not far fetched man I got this bad misconception of what the southern sound is like and here you came and opened my mind up even more, how you feel about the southern tag?

People automatically think of North Carolina as the dirty south when the dirty south is actually Atlanta, New Orleans, Florida, etc. North Carolina is in the south but we really don’t have a particular sound. Any type of rap/hip hop that you want to hear you can hear it right here in North Carolina. There are a lot of colleges and universities in North Carolina so for the most part the top 40 is what dominate the airwaves.

I gotta hit the 9th Wonder up with this question.  Man you got some tight beats lacing the groups tracks how long you been doing it and whats ya favorite beatmaking tool?

I’ve been making beats since late 98. I use a computer and the programs I use are Fruity Loops and Cool Edit Pro.

I was just pumping some Radiohead and Buck 65 some shit that inspired me who inspired you musically cos I think you kinda remind me of a updated native tongues lineup?

We all listen to the greats. Pete Rock and C.L., A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Gangstarr, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, a lot of groups from that era of hip hop. And of course some of our contemporaries like Mos Def, Talib, The Roots.

This question has to be answered when you guys coming out to South Africa?

As soon as we get some dates out there in South Africa, the sooner you will see Little Brother. We all would love to come to Africa.

Rawkus!Aftermath! naw fuck it yall rolling with ABB records right is this your first album on the label and whats ABB all about?

Yes, this is our first album and we went with ABB because they believed in us and our vision. The same album that we walked out of the studio with is the same album that ABB put out, which is the same album that you all are hearing today.

Whats ya favorite track off the album? I was just listening to the Yo Yo track ha ha yeah bring Trick daddy to the next poetry session?

Pooh- My favorite track right now is Shorty on the Lookout

Phonte- The Way You Do It

9th- Speed is my favorite track on the album right now.

Where do you see Little Brother 5 years from now and what would be the ultimate high for the group?

5 years from now we are going to still be putting out dope music, touring, breaking new talent and branching off into other areas of the entertainment industry. Phonte is probably going to be some acting, Pooh is going to be doing some directing, and 9th is going to be scoring movies, or television series.

Man imma bite Petey Pablo I think you were the guys he talked about that’s raising North Carolina up!  Drop a final bomb for the people before you bounce?

Thank you all for listening….please keep supporting Little Brother and we love yall……….PEACE!
