5th Floor is a hip-hop outfit consisting of eleven members and originally hail from Cape Town. The team performs and produces hip-hop music, as well as providing platforms for other forms of urban-art expression within their immediate community. They will be releasing their EP “Attention To Detail” in November 2003 and this will be followed by their full length in Easter 2004. Read on for more information.

About a year ago I was in Cape town and I got hold of this magazine called AWOL. I then got in touch with a brother named Kevin Ramirez and he hit me up with a few more copies. The magazine itself declares war against the injustice that’s occurring against people of color and oppressed people in general. Here’s the discussion I recently had with him.

Stick Eight Entertainment hosts it’s second hip hop event this year called “Locked & Loaded” after only being established in June 2003, and with their first hip hop event called “From Tha Beatz 2 Tha Streetz” which took place at The Barn, UWC on the 19 July 2003 already behind them. This proved to be a very successful event, which boasted live performances by Ready D and Jozi hip hop group Cashless Society.
