Cape Town based Afrikaans Hip Hop group Kallitz (pronounced Coloureds) will be officially releasing the first single off their much anticipated debut album entitled “Die Ding Ruk Mal” on the 15 December 2003. The single – Die Ding Ruk Mal – has gained much popularity on the streets and will be officially released as a free downloadable track in mp3 format.

The music video premier of the song will be aired on Geraas on the 3rd December 2003 on SABC 2.

Their first big Cape Town gig was at the Cape Town Festival’s Night Vision event, where they played on the SAB Gig Rig. New World Inc., the event management company who organised Night Vision were impressed and called Kallitz’ performance a “highlight” of the festival and the co-operation with the group “an absolute pleasure”. Kallitz also brought the house down when they performed at the MFM Pool Party in Stellenbosch, at the Hip Hop Indaba at Club Mercury in Cape Town and at Stick Eight Entertainment’s Locked & Loaded hip hop event in Bellville this year. Stick Eight Entertainment have been so impressed with Kallitz that they have asked Kallitz to appear at their next hip hop event on the 20 December 2003.

Kallitz’ debut album will be released on Mothermix Records and, after announcing a policy of selling CD’s at a price people can afford, the record company has started another “South Africa First” by marketing the album prior to its release.
