The Zim Hip hop scene is set to pick up considerable momentum over the next couple of weeks with the opening of an Open Mic session at the (in)famous Circus Night Club in Harare. Read more for detailed info.Funk B (Zimbabwean MC) has initiated Hip Hop Nite / Open Mic at the (in)famous Circus Night Club, Strathaven Shopping Mall, Harare. Funk B has created a lively hip hop atmosphere for live resident and other emcees to bring their music to the hip hop heads in Harare of which there are plenty.It will be held on every Wednesday @ 8 pm. In more Zim Hip Hop News the Harare MC known as Afriqua is working on his upcoming debut album. Afriqua is also responsible for the Zim Hip Hop Society initiative pushing for unity within the Zim Hip Hop fraternity. On Bulawayo scene there is an MC by the name of Proud of You (POY) who has been doing the rounds and is finishing up his album tentatively tiltled “15 Minutes of Fame” set for a late 2004 release throughout Southern Africa.

Look for new Zim and Ugandan hip hop on the HipHocalypse on the special anniversary show on the 3rd of April with Sensai Tate.
