Silvah Kneedle is presenting Detach Experiment 1 on 10 September 2004 showcasing Abnormal Detail, Witchcraft and Bassmental Platform. On the decks you will find DJ Raiko, Tumi and Laptop. Where? Songwriter’s Club. Cnr Quinn & Carr St in Newtown. 40 Bucks at the door & 20 if you “on the list”. Read on to check out flyer…

The Concept

Detach: To disconnect; to separate; to sever
(Adv.) Detachment: Independence

Experiment: “…trying to find a superior species that we can relate and communicate”

To disassociate ones’ self from a cause which only serves injustice is honourable, yet only embryonic, alas.

This form of application allows you to view, discern, articulate, and rethink form, but most importantly, it grants one the freedom to grow void of the misconceptions rampant in culture (mainstream).

NB: This is not just a promotion of a ‘do as you please’ mind state, ‘an unguided freedom’ but,

RATHER: It is the exercise of free will.
A free will detached from the mainstream school of thought of instant realities and the conditioned thinking, which strips man of the idea of choice.

The choice of being critical thinkers about the things affecting us as human beings – the choice to experiment to encourage growth as a species.

The Hip-Hop underground culture not only embodies this quality of detaching and experimenting but it also manifests in the lifestyles; through what they wear, what they eat, where they hang out, down to what they smoke…

A celebration of independent thought

The Aim:

To give birth to a hip-hop musical experience that represents individuals who are in need of an alternative to the current mainstream-pop-entertainment-culture diet.

Create, promote and influence alternative lifestyles
