Bomit Sticker Network

15 October 2004 No Comment

We have all become familiar with terms like “street teams” and “guerrilla promotional tactics“. Because not only are many companies like Hip-Hop and Skateboard labels employing this grassroots style marketing as their primary method of getting the word out, but it has also become a perfect marketing tool used by big corporations to promote their products…

Recently, many interesting companies have emerged. Bomit Sticker Network, is one such company, which uses stickers as their sole source of promoting and propagating, mainly, underground street art and skate labels. For the heads who are wondering about the origins of their name. Well, Bomit is, as suspected, is graff terminology, which is basically short for “Bomb It”. But instead of using spray paint, sticker enthusiasts are encouraged to hit up public like street poles, electric boxes and skate-ramps with their favourite label names. By using this “tagging” concept, they are able to create a buzz for many indie companies. Unlike many now mushrooming marketing companies, Bomit have actually been in existence for a while and have been distributing stickers for 4 years now. Boasting an extensive client list which include names like; Graff Gear, Zero,Obey Giant, and Toy Machine. In fact, their operations have extended beyond just sticker distribution. They are also producers and have printed stickers for various companies and artists.

Bomit have recently organised an art show called 40oz art. In which artists from all over the world are invited to submit works using 40oz or beer bottles as a canvas on which they can show of their tagging, stencilling, hand-styles skills.

According to Z. James of Bomit, the art show will be going and move to other cities. So far there are about 40 artists taking part. Among the participants include MCA form www.evildesign.com,

Shepard Fairey from Los Angeles www.obeygaint.com, Christian Azul (Houston) www.aerosolwarefare.com and Nicholas ganz from (Germany) www.graffitiworld.org.
