In an impressive display of solidarity and commitment to inner city school programs, rap artists The Game and 50 Cent each presented checks totalling R1,2million today to the Compton Unified School District’s Education Foundation to bring back music and arts education programs lost years ago to state budget cuts. 50 Cent donated a R600 000,00 through is G-Unity Foundation. The Game presented R600 000,00 donation from Aftermath Entertainment, Interscope Records, and his own Black Wall Street Organization.

The name Martha Cooper has been appearing all over websites and magazines so I have wanted to find out more about this woman they call Martha. I mean there are a million Martha’s in the world but what makes this one so special? This woman was so generous to showcase her collection of photos that features basically everybody that was somebody during the golden age of hip hop. Her passion for photography has taken her across all borders and she just promised me that she will be setting out on her first ever South African safari in 2006. Grammy Award-winning US rap star Ludacris is to headline at MTV base 100th LIVE! in Abuja, Nigeria. Sponsored by Nokia, MTV base 100th LIVE! is an exclusive concert to celebrate the launch of MTV base, MTV’s first pan-African music channel and MTV Networks’ 100th channel worldwide. Talented artists, 2-FACE Idibia, ASA, JJC & 419 Squad, and DJ Jacob will also perform at the concert place on 15 April 2005 at The Congress Hall, Nicon Hilton, Abuja, playing to an audience of up to 2,000 fans. Highlights from MTV base 100th LIVE! will subsequently broadcast on MTV channels around the world beginning on 20 May 2005.

This is to confirm that the MTV base 100th Live! concert featuring Will Smith and Ludacris, will be held at the Ster-Kinekor Top Star Drive-In in Johannesburg on the 20th April. Ticket prices and distribution outlets to be announced early next week.
