Verbalisms Magazine Plans Expansion

The print edition of VERBALISMS, a magazine dedicated to women in hip-hop culture, will receive a makeover by the time its next issue hits stores in June 2005. The quarterly glossy print publication will be increasing its layout size from 5.5 x 4.25 to 8.5 x 5.5. The new design is expected to garner more interest from readers and advertisers alike…

Website traffic has soared since the debut of the print publication in March 2005. The print edition of VERBALISMS has successfully attracted new readers while simultaneously increasing its current online readership. The site received 8,000 hits in March, with the majority of visitors coming from the US and Canada. Last year the magazine announced it would be shifting from online to print and has been garnering much support from both female and male readers around the world.

VERBALISMS Magazine has a busy year ahead, as a series of collaborative projects are officially under way. Editor-in-Chief, Raquel Wilson, is currently in talks to launch a series of ventures under the VERBALISMS brand including a mixtape featuring the best of female hip-hop talent from the underground scene, which is expected to launch in the fall.
