The Longest Yard – Movie Review

21 August 2005 No Comment

Paul “Wrecking” Crewe is a former football star who was banned from playing after a rigging scandal. While on probation he gets into a messy drunk driving incident, really messy and winds up in prison. The warden of the prison (James Cromwell) pulled some strings to get Paul into his prison because he is a football fanatic and wants Paul to help him prepare his prison football team. If Paul doesn’t comply then doing time can get a lot harder than if he did. Paul then has to organise a team composed of convicts to play against the guards. Which is only the beginning of his troubles.

Well worth the watch. It’s funny, cool and definitely worth spending cash on. The only downside is that Nelly the “rapper” is in it. I think he sucks (possibly swallows too?), thankfully he has only a minor role in the movie. That aside THE LONGEST YARD totally kicks ass and you should just go watch it unless you really hate Adam Sandler movies then maybe you could go watch something else instead.
