As we know, traditional knowledge has been impacted upon by colonialism and apartheid. This has included the propagation of false philosophies concerning the inferiority on the African peoples. It has entailed the spread and advancement of economic paradigms such as the worship of personal enrichment at all costs. It has encompassed the introduction of benign foreign religions, which were introduced to destroy ours. Read on for details and to view the flyer…

The country needs Artists who are like therapists, Artists who draw from their own personal pain to help others transcend their trauma and turmoil.

It’s with this that as graffitti writerz it has come to our approach as always as it will always be, to reflect on the concerns of a African peoples, to be a voice for and to the peoples.

It will only be in the streets that knowledge can be passed on to a large mass of people, were truth can be displayed and uncensored in that manor – since the traditional large forms of mediums (TV, BILLBOARDS, MAGAZINES, ALWAYS BIGGER ON BIG SCREENS) do nothing but rape us and pollute us with vague imagery and visuals that do nothing to uplift the society.

In many places, painting graffiti is illegal. We do not advocate breaking the law, but we think art belongs in public spaces and that more legal walls should be made available for this fascinating art form. Because it is so hard to get books published and to keep photos and black books from being seized and destroyed by police and such.

This event also is in commemoration to our colleague, who got arrested for aerosol art.
Sentenced to close to 2 years in LEEUKOP prison, realesed this year. Live long bredran.
