Kung Fu Hustle Movie Review

21 September 2005 No Comment

Sing (Stephen Chow) is an inept crook who is trying to be bad but is as bad at it as he is kind. He joins the Axe Gang, China’s most feared gang. The Axe Gang tries to take over a sleepy little village but the town is protected by a powerful force that changes the town and Sing forever.

KUNG FU HUSTLE is Stephen Chow’s ode to Hong Kong’s Kung Fu movies. Stephen Chow is like the Hong Kong Leslie Nielsen except a lot younger and not Canadian.

KUNG FU HUSTLE is slapstick funny and like Chow’s last movie SHOALIN SOCCER it is filled with CGI and cool special effects, likeable characters and funny action.

If you watched SHOALIN SOCCER and liked it then you will definitely want to watch KUNG FU HUSTLE. If you like Jackie Chan movies and comedies then give it a try. If Looney Tunes cartoons are not your thing and you hate Jackie Chan movies then maybe you should try something a bit a more serious and give KUNG FU HUSTLE a miss. That said it sure is a fun movie to go watch with friends or if you just want to tune out and laugh.
