Awe, salute and wassup. This is Isaac Mutant for K.A.K (Koloured Ass Krook Kollective) and Parliament and I need to announce a few things. Parliament is about to release their second album called ‘Die Groot Trek‘, Isaac Mutant’s 2nd album drops October2006 titled ‘Freak no Evil – Side Show Freak Vol 2‘ and the K.A.K album drops November 2006 called ‘Hosh-Styles!‘. This is our time South Africa! On a final note Isaac Mutant has just become a daddy and her name is Lyric!

H20 and Optical Illusion, two crews off leading hip hop label Outrageous Records, bring the sounds off their latest albums to KZN in April. Premier hip hop group H20 take the cool Kasi styles, sounds and stories of their SAMA nominated album Sheleni to KZN with three shows. The Soweto crew’s sophomore album Sheleni was released in 2005 and features them in top form on hits like ‘Sheleni’, the heavily radio rotated ‘Calling Rosanne’, the Stimela sampling ‘Siyashova’ and ‘Blue Skies.’ Joining them on the hot hip hop nights will be the well respected Optical Illusion who have released the follow up to 2003’s Definitive with 2005’s superb The Offering that features the awesome tracks ‘Ghetto Beautifulness’ and ‘Heatwave’…

One of music’s most honest and inspirational singer/songwriters, 12-time Grammy nominated India.Arie will release her new album, Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship, on June 27. Her third studio album, and her first since 2002’s acclaimed Voyage To India, which reached #6 on the Billboard Top Albums chart, the new disc was produced by longtime collaborators Shannon Sanders and Mark Batson (Seal, Beyonce), among others. The album’s first single, “I Am Not My Hair,” featuring searing remix collaborations with Akon, Swizz Beatz, and Jazze Pha, marks the first time India.Arie has agreed to let other artists remix her work…

Roots Reggae and Dancehall gives the first insight into the new exciting Reggae Dancehall movement happening all over Africa right now. So far only two Reggae artists from Africa have had real international success: Lucky Dube and Alpha Blondy. A new generation has long arrived, but while many of these artists are superstars at home and regularly at the top of their local charts, this compilation is the first chance for most of them to present their music to an international audience.
