BME Recordings/Warner Bros Records (and G-Unit affiliate) artist, Lil Scrappy, is set to release his highly anticipated debut album, Bred 2 Die Born 2 Live later this summer. Check out streams for the album’s first release, “Gangsta Gangsta” featuring and produced by Lil’ Jon.

Two international artists will be joining a “star-studded” local line-up of bands at Old Mutual’s “Acoustic Encounters” music venue at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown from the end of June. British-born singer/songwriter Lloyd Cole – who first shot to fame with his band the Commotions in the eighties – has been secured for three “up close and intimate” performances in the small 200-seater venue, as has American songster Michelle Shocked.

Now, for the first time, all of the group’s signature videos have been collected on one DVD with bonus material that will be released by Sony Legacy on June 13.

Farrah(22), Neosha(20), and twins Felisha and Fallon (18), collectively known as Cherish, are the newest addition to Jazze Pha’s Sho’Nuff Recordings label. Their hit single, “Do It To It” is the first hit from their debut album, Unappreciated. With critics already citing them as an extension to their successful label mate Ciara, Cherish promises to bring elements of sophistication and sensuality that challenge the comparison.

City of Cape Town Arts and Culture Forum has funded Heal the Hood Project to compile and release a book. It has been decided that the book will focus on rhymes, articles, poetry and short stories of youth in Cape Town. We looking for hungry developing artists (solo and group performances) who would like to take centre stage in this year’s Winter Showcase Festival on 15 July ’06 at the Artscape – Cape Town.
