Heineken, 5fm and BIG Concerts recently announced that Hip-Hop heavyweight Jay-Z, and Caribbean Queen, Rihanna, will be visiting South Africa in October, for a 3-date tour which will see them performing in Cape Town on the 11 th, in Durban on the 13th, and finally in Johannesburg on the 14th. And now, they are thrilled to reveal that Jay-Z and Rihanna will be supported throughout the tour by one of SA’s biggest Kwaito superstars – Kabelo.

Kabelo, A.K.A Mr Bouga Luv, has reached multi-platinum selling status, won two consecutive SAMA Awards for Best Kwaito Artist, and boasts a Kora All Africa Music Award for Best Male Artist ( another music event sponsored also by Heineken). His brilliantly textured kwaito pop album, Exodus, is his fifth, and is about to be released on the eagerly awaiting public. Almost every song with its pumping beats is a sure fire hit as Kabelo has kept to his tried and tested, winning formula. The album sees him collaborating with some of the top artists in the country, including Freshlyground’s lead singer, Zolani, Tsepho Tsholo and Howza and Gurash, from his group BlackJack.

Kabelo’s feel good music embodies the spirit of kwaito, and he always motivates and inspires the youth to dream more and work harder to realise their dreams. Never a visitor on the music charts, Mr Bouga Luv resides there!

Audiences will be enthralled and hyped by one of SA’s Kwaito pioneers, before the stage is set ablaze with Rihanna’s rich, cultural fusion of dancehall and ragga, and then by one of the most influential men in music today.

Def Jam’s president Jay-Z, has worldwide album sales in excess of 33 million, and he takes the game to the next level employing his lyrical genius, charm and intellect. These same qualities, and his penchant for knocking out flavourful tunes, have also earned him a horde of devout fans.

Jay-Z’s recent performance at Radio City Music Hall sold out in less than two minutes, Rihanna’s second album “A Girl Like Me”, has already been certified Platinum, and Kabelo’s about to unleash “Exodus”, his fifth studio album. All three artists have had significant achievement in South Africa, with their hits climbing the charts at local radio stations, especially 5fm.

The show promises to be mind-blowing – a provocative and soulful meditation on hip-hop life, a catchy mixture of handclaps, drum rhythms and soulful sounds… and the pure power of lyrical genius.
