After taking a little over a year off from music, San Jose CA. native Playa Rae has returned with his latest album entitled "Dayz Like This". The album is noted as his most personal album to date. There are 19 tracks total, with the last four tracks being a Chopped & Screwed remix version from Dj Loon. Production from Remy Remaq, Mr. Sche, Equivalent Exchange & S.B. the Grindaholik & features include Smigg Dirtee, C.G., Fade Dogg and two very talented female vocalists in C-Rena & Angelyse.

Street Knowledge/Cheap Thrills Prods. was in the house to capture Nas live and in rare form at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC on Dec. 26th. The show presented by Live Nation, produced a  sold-out crowd,eager to see their favorite m.c Nas aka God's Son. After a warm-up performance by DJ Mister Cee and introduction by Funk Master Flex, Nas came out to the sounds blaring through the sound system of Marley Maul and was warmly greeted by his loyal fans.

Guru, one half of the critically acclaimed hip-hop duo, Gang Starr, began releasing his own collaborative solo albums in 1993 under the creative collective name of Jazzmatazz. The ongoing series showcases Guru's collaborations with top hip-hop, R&B, and jazz artists, merging hip-hop with jazz in a style that has, in turn, influenced both genres. On February 12, Virgin/EMI will release The Best Of Guru's Jazzmatazz, an 18-track CD and digital collection presenting together, for the first time, the best cuts from the groundbreaking series' first three volumes and rare bonus tracks.

Sounds of Africa and Naija Top Ten are two separate radio programmes on UNILAG 103.1 FM in Lagos, Nigeria. The station is the first and only university radio station in Nigeria at the moment, owned by University of Lagos. It is being received loud and clear by 10 million radio listeners in Lagos, Nigeria.

Born in 1975 in Orangeburg, NC; son of Marvin and Vicki Winans (gospel musicians). Addresses: Record company–Bad Boy Worldwide Entertainment Group, 1440 Broadway, 16th Fl., New York, NY 10018. Mario Winans made waves on the R&B music scene in 2004 with his solo release Hurt No More. The album, released on P. Diddy's Bad Boy label, topped the charts immediately, selling a quarter of a million copies in its first week of release, and launching the hit single "I Don't Wanna Know." The work followed his less commercially successful 1997 Motown debut, Story of My Heart. In addition to his solo work, Winans has made a name for himself producing, writing, and performing on the albums of other artists, including Janet Jackson, P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Whitney Houston, and the members of his famous gospel-singing family.

Chris Blackwell’s Palm Pictures announces the release of the politically driven music documentary AFRICA UNITE, produced and directed by Stephanie Black. The film features exclusive footage of three generations of the Marley family on their historic first journey together to the capital of Ethiopia, to take part in a concert event like no other. AFRICA UNITE debuts on DVD on February 12, 2008.

When Magruff Muttley was a in the 4th grade he used to write LL Cool J's raps. In the 8th grade he developed his own style and started practicing his own raps and performing them at school, proms, and colleges, just to be heard. In 1991 he put out his first mixtape called Thick Mail. "I sold out in 2 lunch periods," said Magruff Muttley. Other projects ensued. "I dropped my single Magruff The Money Dog in 1995. Then my biggest release was Verbal Cinema in 1998. I sold over 4000 copies of that on the street, no stores."
