Locking together their collected skills and experience 3 Must-Get-Funk'd is the result of a unique set challenge to rock a dancefloor by mashing songs from across time, space and genre together in a way that keeps the energy building in a seamless flow of dynamic depth engaging mind, body and foot-soles making you want to funk-out, sing along, shout 'H-Uh!!' or whatever the funk you wanna do. Having hosted two spectacular parties at Fiction, and having attracted the sponsorship of Sportscene, we now present you the bigger and Superbad 3-Must-Get-Funk'd Vol. 3 featuring Jozi's best: DJ Khenzero and Kid Fonque in another symphony of Phat Beats, wah-pedals and synths, from organic to electro Funk Bliss. Can you dig it?

DJ Kenzhero

No stranger to South African music lovers, Kenzhero's career began in

1999 in Johannesburg propelled by the inspiration of his music loving family milieu and his grandfather's extensive jazz, blues and soul collection. Having played alongside the likes of Tumi of the volume, Lebo Mashile, Blk Sonshine, Simphiwe Dana, Skwatta Camp and 340ml at their humble beginnings, he moved to Cape Town in 2002 to further his DJ education, where he first came into contact with his musical peers DJs Klinikal, nastie.ed and Selektah Soul of "3 Must Get Funk'd" at the 2003 Red Bull Music Academy and a shared long-runnign residency at legendary music-lovers haven: Club 'Marvel'. Over the next half a decade he has been featured alongside the likes of Moodphase5, Freshly Ground, Mxo, Kwani Experience, Max Normal at events like Okkikoppi, Urban Voices, Macufe, Native Yards, on radio stations Yfm, Uct Radio, Kaya FM and Tuks.

Using his promotional experience, DJ Kenzhero branched out in 2007 and

2008 to begin his hugely popular and successful brand of parties "Party People" that sees him traveling to Cape Town, Johannesburg and Maputo, Mozambique every month to spread good music and better vibrations with acts that have included Zubz, Teba, Fifi, Tumi and international legends the likes of J-Live, Wordsworth and Bahamadia.

Kid Fonque

A label mate at prestigious SoulCandi Records, Kid Fongue's style is billed as soulful, jazzy, fresh and always unpredictable. Harnessing his sound playing Downbeat and Hip Hop in chill rooms in the late 90s, a 2 ½ year residency at 206 in the early 2000s complimented his passion for music with an open environment to expand into an amalgamation of "breakin', noddin', samba'n and groovin'" sounds. A variety in styles and flavours started putting Fonque on main floors rockin' a different beat- housy, broken, nujazz, breaks whatever it was you where sure to hear consistency and quality throughout. After releasing critically acclaimed mix CD's "Saladomundo Vol1 and 2", Kid Fonque was sourced to compile, mix and remix compilations for legendary broken beat/nu-jazz Berlin label "Sonar Kollektiv", home to the likes of Jazzanova and Deyampert.

Playing in clubs all over South Africa, Kid Fonque has been featured alongside internationals like Jazzanova (Sonar Kollektiv records Berlin), Luke Solomon (Classic records), Gilles Peterson (Radio 1 UK), Dj Craze (World DMC Champ 3 years in a row), Dj Naughty (Deejay Gigolos Germany), Ame (Sonar Kollektiv Berlin), Aaron Jerome (if music London), Nick Matthews (best kept secret) and Basement jaxx.
