The image of our glorious ancestor, Imhotep, has been paid a huge and
obvious racist disservice by Horrorwood in the movie "The Mummy".
Let ALL black people roundly condemn this movie with the utmost contempt it
deserves!!!!!!!!.
Please see the following:
IMHOTEP - FATHER OF MEDICINE
By Brian e Ebden
THE AFRICAN multigenius Imhotep is usually regarded as the first physician
in history. Imhotep lived about 2980 BC during the reign of Pharoah Zoser
of the Third Dynasty. As a member of the pharoah's court Imhotep was an
architect, scribe, priest, and administrator as well as physician. He
designed the step pyramid at Saqqara. As an architect he was responsible
for designing the Step Pyramid and the Saqqara Complex. During his lifetime
he was given a host of titles, among them: Chancellor of the King of Lower
Egypt, the First after the King of Upper Egypt, High Priest of Heliopolis
and Administrator of the Great Palace. As a physcian, Imhotep is believed
to have been the author of the Edwin Smith Papyrus in which more than 90
anatomical terms and 48 injuries are described. This is well over 2,200
years before the Western Father of Medicine Hippocrates is born. Some 2,000
years after his death, Imhotep was still worshipped in early Rome. His very
name, Im-Hotep, translates as the Prince of Peace. In Greece he was
identified as Asclepius, God of Medicine. Up to this day, oaths sworn by
new doctors all over the world claim, "..by Hippocrates and Asclepius?" The
insignia on the sarcophagus of Imhotep (which can be found together with
his statue in the Louvre in Paris) is that of a dagger with the entwined
snakes which the global medical fraternity still uses as the symbol of
medicine.
As a philosopher and poet, Imhotep's most remembered phrase is: "Eat,
drink, and be merry for tomorrow we shall die."
Over the centuries, Egyptians in need of healing flocked to shrines and
temples erected in Imhotep's honor. According to Osler, Imhotep was "the
first figure of a physician to stand out clearly from the mists of
antiquity." Galen (200 AD), who devotedly continued Hippocratic teachings,
is simply expressing the belief of his master when he writes "the invention
of medicine was the experiences of the Egyptians." Surviving papyri point
to a sophisticated medical knowledge of the Egyptians. One of the more
famous of these is the Edwin Smith papyrus. The Ebers (original Egyptian
name) medical papryi include a considerable share of magic and religion.
Furthermore, the papyrus contains chapters on intestinal disease,
helminthiasis, opthalmology, dermatology, gynecology, obstetrics, pregnancy
diagnosis, contraception, dentistry, and the surgical treatment of
abscesses, tumors, fractures and burns.
The writing of medical history is such that these contributions to medical
history are never presented as the contributions of black people. The
subject of race of the ancient Egyptians is carefully avoided. In the
presentation of ancient medicine most sources rely heavily in quotation and
citation on Herodotus, the so-called Father of History. They never,
however, find occasion to include his comments about the physical
appearance of the ancient Egyptians. This omission is particularly glaring
in the invariable reference to the practice of circumcision in ancient
Egypt, a fact of medical importance noted by Herodotus and associated with
a comment about race. In this quote Herodotus is referring to a colony of
people called the Colchians who lived in western Asia near the Black Sea.
"There can be no doubt that the Colchians are an Egyptian race...My own
conjectures were founded, first, on the fact that they are black-skinned
and have wholly hair, which certainly amounts to little, since several
other nations are so too; but further, and more especially, on the
circumstance that the Colchians, the Egyptians and the Ethiopians are the
only nations who have practised circumcision from the earliest times."

BLAXX ONLINE
please, forward to anyone that would like to participate.
Are there ONE MILLION Black Internet Users? We have been told by major
advertising executives that there are not "that many" Black persons on
the Internet. What's even worse is that similar statements being made by
a few people who look like us. Sadly, there is no evidence to dispute
such a ridiculous claim. We are conducting a research experiment to prove
that there are at least one million regular users of the Internet who
classify themselves as African American, African, Pan-African or Black.
The purpose of the research is to justify to the major media,
advertisers, content developers, hardware and software manufacturers
and others that we are a viable audience that cannot be ignored.
You are cordially invited to visit "EverythingBlack.com" and be part of
the "One of a Million" campaign. EverythingBlack.com is a comprehensive
directory of Internet websites of particular interest to persons of African
descent. We have over 500 active listings to date. An independent audit
of the Traffic count will be conducted counters will not be used.
Our supporters include the Black Data Processing Associates and Q.E.D. Inc.
Please assist us in this massive research effort. You can help by:

EISHHHH JOE!
There was this virgin that was going out on a date for the first
time and she told her grandmother about it. So, the grandmother
says "Sit here and let me tell you about those young boys.
"He is going to try and kiss you, you are going to like that but
don't let him do that.
"He is going to try and feel your breast, you are going to like
that but don't let him do that.
"He is going to try and put his hands between your legs, you are
going to like that but don't let him do that.
"But most important, he is going to try and get on top of you
have his way with you. You are going to like that but, don't let
him do that, it will disgrace the family."
With that bit of advice, the granddaughter went on her date.
The next day she told her grandmother that her date went just
like she said. But she said "Grandma, I didn't let him disgrace
the family. When he tried, I just turned over, got on top of him,
and disgraced HIS family..."
===============================================================
a husband and wife noticed that their little boy's penis was
a little too small so they took him to the doctor. They
expressed their concerns to the doctor. The doctor said to
feed the little boy lots of toast. The next morning, the
wife gets up really early and makes a huge stack of toast...
... When the little boy comes down to breakfast, the mother
says, "Take the top two slices. The rest are for your father."
