APOLOGY ACCEPTED

after lengthy verbal deliberations with mine own self(and a few e-mails
from readers, especially miss gondwe) i came to the conclusion that i
have to be true to myself and like spike lee DO THE RIGHT THANG...

I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO APOLOGISE TO ALL THOSE READERS
NOT BORN SOUTH OF THE LIMPOPO FOR A RATHER FUCKED UP "GENERALISED" COMMENT
THAT EMANATED FROM MY CEREBRUM IN THE 24TH EDITION OF THE URB...
I NEVER MEANT TO COME ACROSS SAYING THAT ALL NON-SOUTH AFRICAN AFRICANS
ARE HERE BY FRAUDULENT MEANS AND THAT THEY SOMEHOW BREATH SOUTH AFRICAN
OXYGEN ILLEGALLY... FORGIVE ME.

MAMELA!

"..with never a good word for anybody as usual.."

this is a rather detailed description of me as the editor of the now
3 500 subscriber strong URBANTAINMENT... according to william bowles
of yfm digital services. kinda makes me wonder if that's what every
one of you readers think of moi... please tell me.

DAMN - did you see that hoochie on phat joe live?
DAMN is vusi twala pissed off about that shit?

talking about vusi... bongani modondo of the daily news in durban
describes vusi as a guy with firecrackers tied to his voicebox, and
somebody lighting it every time he tries to speak.

that's some funny shit right there...

eish joe...

A Mother taught her son to go to the bathroom by the numbers:
1. Open your fly.
2. Take out your equipment.
3. Pull back the skin.
4. Do your business.
5. Let the skin forward.
6. Stow your equipment.
7. Close your fly.

She checked on him often to see if he had learned the lesson, and
heard 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. She was very happy until one day she checked
and heard 3-5, 3-5, 3-5.

KWAITO/HOUSE

i have something that i would like to ask everyone who is a
subscriber of urbantainment. for the past two or three years, dj's
have been coming up with compilations .......left right and centre.
now, if people can still remember well, people used to go to clubs
like mad. this was in the early 90's. if a dj was playing at a club
somewhere like in jo'burg, he usually got such a huge audience.....to
such an extend that you would find people chilling outside because it
was too packed inside and not because they don't wanna go in coz they
are bored. the reason for this was that we knew that we were gonna
get to hear songs that we only hear on radio and even get to hear
some new ones. now that compilations are flying all over the place,
clubbing tradition doesn't exist anymore because we ask ourselves"
why should i pay to go listen to someone playing songs that i can get
over the counter, have my own party and play just that one mixed
compilation?"
i these dj's making money from this? can't they notice that nowadays
we do not have variety in terms of where to go party on a normal
weekend? PLEASE .......PLEASE.....PLEASE......STOP THESE COMPILATIONS
AND STICK TO WHAT YOU DO BEST......SPINNING THE TURN-TABLES.......AND
LEAVE THE " PRODUCING A CD" TO OUR LOCAL ARTIST........COZ THE DO
NEED TO MAKE MONEY AS WELL. STOP BEING SELFISH AND STICK TO 'UR JOBS.

LERATO.
