(August 13, 2010 – Brooklyn, NY) Since the release of their 2009 sophomore album Brooklynati, the hip-hop crew Tanya Morgan has been delivering stellar shows to fans throughout the East Coast and the Midwest. They now set off on August 20th on their second tour of the summer season to impart their musical genius to audiences in major cities throughout the Wild West. They will be blazing through Texas, New Mexico, California, and the State of Washington. Tanya Morgan will also be hitting the international stage once again, making hot-stops throughout the European cities of Ipswich, Birmingham, London, and Barcelona.

Along with this latest tour, the crew has been forging other major side projects that have set fans’ decks on fire. Donwill’s debut solo album Don Cusack In High Fidelity, released earlier this year, and “The Sandwich Shop” by Donwill and Von Pea, have been wildly regarded as some of the highest quality music being released today. After the release of his mixtape, So Motivational: The Most Skullduggery Of Mixtapes, fans and critics alike now await the much anticipated September release of Von Pea’s solo album Pea’s Gotta Have It.

Tanya Morgan isn’t stopping there. The crew is now officially part of the latest installment in the best selling, and highest rated NBA videogame series NBA 2k11. In NBA 2k11, gamers will actually be able to play with the characters that represent members of Tanya Morgan in the video game. This is especially noteworthy because this marks the first time Michael Jordan allows his image to be used on the cover and only one of a very few times in a video game.

Rock with Tanya Morgan at a city near you but if you can’t make it, look forward to tearing the court up as Donwill, Von Pea, or Ilyas in the forthcoming NBA 2k11 video game.

The Background:

Tanya Morgan is back with their third project, Brooklynati, following the success of Moonlighting and The Bridge. Since Von Pea, Ilyas, and Donwill formed Tanya Morgan in 2003, they have received high praise from media elites such as Spin, The Source, XXL Magazine and a resounding seal of approval from the blogosphere. Considered by many to be our generation’s torchbearers for De La Soul and A Tribe Called Quest, Tanya Morgan will once again put their skills on display with the unique hip-hop Americana sounds of their Brooklynati album this spring. Based on the fictitious city of Brooklynati, this release pushes the boundaries of a concept album by incorporating not only lyrical imagery but also cultivating a culture and mindset, which can be experienced through the City of Brooklynati Chamber of Commerce website: http://www.brooklynati.com/home.html. The sites, sounds, memories, and events of Brooklynati were unleashed via Bay-Area based record label Interdependent Media, the architects behind the funding and development of Brooklynati.
