The six finalists for the first round of the Hiphopkop contest was recently announced.   There are 6 finalists (five selected by judges and one selected by popular vote).  They will also perform alongside DJ Ready D and Jack Parow at the Artscape in Cape Town on 28 January at 19h00.

The three judges DJ Ready D, Dokte and Jack Parow  struggled to choose the five finalists.   Due to the high standard of entries, the organizers are currently in negotiations with Ghetto Ruf to put out a compilation CD showcasing some of the other entrants.

The five finalists by the judges are:

• Bluetrain

• Khoe Sunz

• Cole
