Iamsu! and director HBKGADGET have teamed up once again to create a new visual for the latest track from Iamsu!’s KILT 2 mixtape, “Father God,” which Rolling Stone premiered today. The mixtape, released on June 6th, has been catching the attention of new fans and earned a review from Pitchfork, who referred to Iamsu! as “colorful, catchy” and a “burgeoning star.”

The second video released from KILT 2 shows the 23-year-old rapper reflecting on his success and delivering a prayerful hook throughout the track. “Everybody has their perspective on religion in hip-hop, and lately there’s been a lot of talking down on it. So when it came time to write this song, I just felt like praying on the chorus,” he explains. “I believe there is a God and that I owe him a great deal. I’ve been blessed.”  Taking control of both production and vocals, Iamsu! paints the clear contrast between his rough background and glossy foreground that has emerged as his career has grown.
