Known far and wide for his 2002 Divine Mill/Arista Records breakout single "Boom Boom Boom", Rob Jackson is back with a fresh new single and a hot new mixtape! After doing tracks with the likes of Boyz II Men and UGK, Rob took a brief hiatus from the music industry when the Arista deal dissolved. He moved to Atlanta and joined up with the independent label Blackout Music.
Rob Jackson recently released the first single, “Put Ya Pimpin Down”, from his upcoming album The Rob Report. He is also circulating a new mixtape entitled Highway Robbery Volume I, which is a double-disc release of exclusives, remixes and freestyles, hosted by DJ Shakim “The Franchise” of the Heavy Hitters and Superfriends DJ crews. The full-length album will drop in September 2005, and Rob will be traveling throughout the summer in support of the project. Right now, Hood Grown Magazine is running a nationwide remix contest for Rob's single "Put Ya Pimpin Down" during the month of June. The best production will be selected in July by the Blackout Music staff, and the talented winner will be flown to Atlanta to spend time in the studio and on the town in a big way with Rob Jackson and the Blackout Music family. You can catch Rob at various events this summer, including Bad Boy weekend this month in Houston, Texas. You can also hear him speak about his career experiences at the 2005 Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Conference on August 3rd.
