A picture-postcard afternoon in the countryside ends in tragedy as Joe (Daniel Craig) and Claire (Samantha Morton) witness a ballooning incident. Bound together by their experience, fellow witness Jed (Rhys Ifans) becomes obsessed with Joe, stalking him and becoming ever more threatening.
Daniel Craig is excllent as usual (after LAYER CAKE he is someone to keep an eye on) but Rhys Ifans is brilliantly cast as Jed and he is just perfect. Pschological thrillers a difficult to make scarey because most of the tension and fear takes place in the protaganists head. ENDURING LOVE succeeds in building up the tension to the climatic end. The best part of ENDURING LOVE is that you know it's going to get dark but when it happens it stills seems surprising especially how it ends. Respect to Rhys Ifans and Daniel Craig because of them ENDURING LOVE works so well. ENDURING LOVE is one of the best psychological thrillers to have been releaesd in a while. Well worth the watch. CAST: Daniel Craig, Rhys Ifans, Samantha Morton and Bill Nighy DIRECTOR: Roger Michell RUNNING TIME: 100 minutes AGE RESTICTION: 16L GENRE: Drama RELEASE DATE: 8 July 2005 RATING: 7/10 “A Taut Psycholigical Thriller” Buy this DVD Review by Punjabi_Goth for Africasgateway.com |
