Get ready for a building session on the Independent Hip Hop Movement at Cape Town on July 18th 2005. Read on for detailed information...

Date: Monday, July 18th
Venue: ArtScape Center - On the Side
Time: 7pm – 10pm

Goals:

• Build on developing strong connections between the South African and US independent Hip Hop Movements.

• Expand on the meaning of Hip Hop and what it means to us, as individuals and collectively.

• Have a round table discussion, where everyone is free to share their views on the Hip Hop movement and what our goals should be.

• Connect with each other to see what we can do to help the movement of Hip Hop whether its through djing, emceeing, breaking, graff, production, the business, video, promotions and etc.

• Come up with concrete goals to meet and collaborations that can happen in the future.

• Ensure that everyone is heard and has an equal voice in our dedicated movement to connect people through such a powerful form of music.

• Realize that through technological innovation, there are increasing opportunities to become successful as independent artists. But only upon realization that we must work collectively in some form will this success truly arise.

Please come join us, for an open, free celebration and building session on the Hip Hop movement that has taken the WORLD by storm. If you love Hip Hop and know that it can play a major role in changing the world then this is where you should be.

There will be a dj for your listening pleasure. Please come ready to share your thoughts, music and expression and ready to listen to everyone’s offerings.

We hope to see you there. Peace.
