If you read the books don’t bother reading further, if you liked them go watch the movie, you will love it. For those who don’t know here is the synopsis: Arthur Dent is an earthling who gets off Earth just before it is destroyed by an alien race to make way for a hyperspace bypass. He is of course rescued by his friend Ford Prefect who is an alien (Arthur didn’t know), his friend and a writer for the galactic company that publishes THE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY...
The film is not exactly like the series there are some bits and pieces shuffled around from all the books to make it understandable for the uninformed (those who haven’t read the books) and so it doesn’t have to be a series of movies. As mentioned before if you liked the books you’re going to love the movie. Douglas Adams co-wrote the script and was a producer (which is weird because he has been dead for a while) so you know it’s not going to be misinterpreted while being converted to film. If you’re still reading this then you haven’t read the books. The books are funny, they are meant to be funny and the humour is demented and off centre. If you enjoy comedies then you will enjoy THE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY. So go watch it already. CAST: Sam Rockwell, Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel, Martin Freeman, Bill Nighy and John Malkovich DIRECTOR: Garth Jennings RUNNING TIME: 110 minutes AGE RESTICTION: TBA GENRE: Comedy RELEASE DATE: N/A RATING: 8/10 “If You Loved The Books Just Go And Watch It Already, You Know You Want To” Buy this DVD |
