it is said that September is a heritage month. It is also a start of a new good season ‘spring’. Gallo Record Company and Amuseafrica presents “Jazz Season” which will take place on Thursday, 1st of September 2005 at The Songwriters Club in Newtown. Over the past years, South African music took significant steps toward a goal of being the most desirable cultural music in the world. AMUSEAFRICA.COM/LIVE!’s goal is to try to create excitement around urban live music, arts & culture in the corporate world...
AMUSEAFRICA.COM/LIVE! promises to be the hottest live band events in Jozi and will leverage South African’s iconic music and expertise to create a compelling connection between musicians – old and new. It will establish itself as one of Jozi's premiere showcase rooms for live jazz, hip-hop, funk, acid-jazz, afro-soul and everything in between – progressive but not out-of-touch, soulful but not soft.
The main bands, which are billed on the night, are Gallo’s RAE and NOKUKHANYA. Also showcasing their independent record label, UTHOH’s act TEE PEE will do his thing with Zulu Mobb. While one of jazz’s finest in live stage performance BLACK MOK will jazz it up. It’s spring day people.
Musical selections on 1’s & 2’s are DJs SYNTAX, BIONIC, DOLLA & D-SOUL. All spinning good, soulful & funk records from their crates. Digging hard to give you a superb blend of hiphop, funk, soul and brokenbeats. Providing you with fresh sounds. Don't sleep on this!
AMUSEAFRICA.COM/LIVE! will provide the perfect platform to spotlight South African urban live music and artists alongside the cream of music legends, established artists, entrepreneurs, corporates and media.
AMUSEAFRICA.COM/LIVE! takes place on Thursdays, where live sound can be heard pulsating through the space - focusing mainly on true quality music more than anything else.
