Mamie had a baby boy 19 years ago with her step-brother Charles. 19 years later Nicky a filmmaker claims to know the identity of her son but will only reveal it to her he can film the reunion. Javier, Mamie’s boyfriend suggests that they film him and his life as a sex worker about massage and ‘happy endings’ (when a man is having sex, yes, that kind of ‘happy ending’) instead.
There are a lot of intersecting stories HAPPY ENDINGS and all the character’s lives are connected even if they don’t know it. It is one of the interesting films of the year to watch. It’s funny, moving, intelligent, filled with characters that have ‘issues’ and best of it’s told in an interesting way. While a scene is taking place little pop ups will appear giving information about the characters, what’s going to happen to them in twenty years or giving you a clue about a plot twist. HAPPY ENDINGS, worth watching more than once and so totally worth getting for the DVD collection. “Weird Comedy About Happy Endings and ‘Happy Endings’” CAST: Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Bobby Cannavale, Sarah Clarke, Steve Coogan, Jesse Bradford and Tom Arnold DIRECTOR: Don Roos RUNNING TIME: N/A Minutes AGE RESTRICTION: 16 LS GENRE: Black Comedy RELEASE DATE: N/A RATING: 8/10 Buy DVD Review by Punjabi_Goth |
