After a year in the Bay Area from New York, Mikey Mo was already starting to make noise. In 2003, Mikey Mo caught the attention of Muse10 (Spoon & Dok) free-styling at a party and soon after the three started recording together. In 2004, Muse10 put Mikey Mo on their Hip-Hop compilation, “The Muse10 Project”. The song, “Ain’t No Runnin”, created a major buzz throughout the underground Hip-Hop community and established a fan base for Mikey Mo. Building on that fan base, Mikey Mo was on the grind doing numerous shows in California throughout 2004. At the beginning of 2005, Mikey Mo dropped an exclusive track, “I Know You Feel Me”, on DJ Deuce Ace’s mixtape “Dear Tara Hill”. The track featured ShuxWun (Music&Strength) and produced by Dok. Also in 2005, Mikey Mo joined 3sixty5 Records and was able to drop a couple of sick verses on Abyss’s song, “A Day Like Today”, which is on Abyss’s debut album FROM NOW ON. In August 2005 Mikey Mo was part of The West Bound Tour doing shows throughout the west-coast. The West Bound Tour featured Mikey Mo, Abyss, The Jimi Handtrix, Dap D., and Artson (Rock Steady Crew).
Currently Mikey Mo just finished his long awaited mixtape, HUNGER PAINZ. Recorded, mixed, and arranged by Muse10, HUNGER PAINZ features guest appearances by Abyss, DJ Daeta, Forensic Science, Vision, Shux, Shawnie Bo, Eyes Low, K-Wall, and many more. Scheduled to drop in August 2005, HUNGER PAINZ is guaranteed to have the Hip-Hop world take notice. At the same time, Mikey Mo is also in the studio recording tracks for his debut album, FOCUSED, which is scheduled for release in early 2006. Majority of the production will be handled by Muse10, with additional production by Abyss and 151. With over 20 tracks recorded already, Mikey Mo is working hard to make sure his debut album is a 5 mic Hip-Hop classic.
Influenced by many different artists, Mikey Mo sets himself apart by being himself and not conforming to the water-down Hip-Hop we hear today. With 3sixty5 Records behind him one-hundred percent, Mikey Mo will continue to bring that raw Hip-Hop and establish a new platform for himself. |
