Battlekat’s long awaited album titled “Redefinition” which is being released by his own label Beast Against the Beast has been pushed back for October/ November. “I want the album to be put out properly” says Battlakat, he further more explains that “distribution and accessibility are my biggest concerns right now, besides, Beast Against the Beast is not yet as popular as a label, so I think it makes more sense to put out an album that will launch the label and it’s artist first before anything else”.
So as to introduce the label, it’s artists and it’s associates, Beast Against the Beast (BAB) vol 1 is a debut album to launch Battlekat’s new record label. The album aimed to be released Late August, is produced by Battlekat himself and a newly recruited producer, Sthembiso “Instro”. It features mostly up and coming artists such as Mawe2 (Zubz "heavy 8" and Optical Ill's "the emcee"), Nthabi, Mr Cee (of Landmynz) Mr. Beef, X-rate, Wizardry, Reason (who is popularly known for doing jingles for Dj Fresh on YFM’s former “Unrestricted Breakfast Show” and currently 5FM’s “Fresh Drive”) and the members of the seasoned veteran group, Optical Illusion (Golden Shovel, Logic and Geno) who are signed to the most critically acclaimed hip-hop label, Outrageous Records. This album is just a sample of what Beast Against the Beast is all about, and more exciting projects scheduled for future release under the label besides Battlekat’s album are, Reason, Mr. Beef, X-rate, Wizardry, Golden Shovel’s solo, Maximum Sentence vol. 2, a new concept called The L.X.L (The League of Xtraordinary Lyrists), and many more compilations and mix-tapes. The album will be given out for free and only a limited amount of copies will be available. So in order for listener to secure a copy, they will be required to call or sms Battlekat or Reason on 074 233 7580, leave their name, cell number, name of town/ city, and options of 3 popular malls in their surrounding area which they’ll be directed to in order to acquire the album. |
