NEW INTERNATIONAL STREET DATE IS FEBRUARY 6, 2003 Santa Monica, CA – January 31, 2003 - As a reaction to bootlegging, piracy, and overall demand, the release of Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, the new album from Shady/Aftermath recording artist 50 Cent, has been changed to an international street date of Thursday, February 6, 2003.
“I’m excited that the streets are anxious to have my album so I’m just gonna give them what they want, the real version. And if I catch any bootleggers they gonna have to deal with me. Believe me G-Unit is combing the block. I’m looking for that van.” comments 50 Cent. Notes Steve Berman, Senior Executive, Sales and Marketing for Interscope Geffen A&M: “Once again we find ourselves pushing up an album. This is an unfortunate road that we have been down before but luckily we know what measures to take. We immediately turned up the heat. In conjunction with our partners at retail we are confident that we will meet the demand and get the product in stores.” Get Rich or Die Tryin’ is executive produced by Eminem and Dr. Dre and includes 50 Cent’s hit singles “Wanksta” and “In Da Club.” |
