The V&A Waterfront's SA Music Week Festival will consist of live performances and facilitatory workshops for aspirant musicians. The purpose behind SA Music Week is to pay tribute to South Africa's home-grown legends while raising the profile of South African musicians and to showcase new talent. 

Performing live at the V & A Waterfront will be a spectacular array of musicians, including amongst others:

Ladysmith Black Mambazo - Grammy Award winners and SA's most successful international act 
Tamara Dey - SA's first lady of dance music 
Heinz Winckler - SA Idols winner 
Skwatta Camp - pure Hip-Hop rhyme animals 
Mizchif - Zimbabwe born Hip-Hop and Rap artist 
Crazy Lu - South Africa's young King of Hip-Hop 
Jason Glover - singer and composer of memorable tunes 
Ami Williams - Jazz singer with the ability to silence a room with the brilliance of her voice 
Allou April - unique guitarist with a "Cape Town sound" 
Musa Manzini - the bass master extraordinaire 
Liesl Graham - edgy and insightful rock/pop singer and songwriter 
Errol Dyers - one of South Africa's premier jazz guitarists who has played with the best including Basil Coetzee and Abdullah Ibrahim 

The V&A Waterfront's SA Music Week Festival live programme runs from 17h00 - 21h00 daily in the marquee on Market Square with a nominal charge of R10-00 per show. All funds raised will go towards assisting the Township Music Education for Children and Youth - an organisation that works with youth in the townships teaching them to appreciate music through a comprehensive formal music education. 

Of special interest to aspirant musicians will be a valuable series of Living Music Workshops, in collaboration with Compact Disc Warehouse. These workshops have been designed to impart instrument skills, nurture music appreciation (particularly with the younger generation) as well as to guide aspiring musicians through the intricacies of the business side of the music industry.

There will be three 45-minute workshops daily in the marquee on Market Square between 12h00-15h00, entrance is free and all are welcome.
