Dr. Robert Moog, inventor of the synthesizer, will be giving a public talk at 6:30 pm on Thursday 13 November 2003 at Paul Bothner Music, Richmond Centre, Main Road, Plumstead .
Musicians and members of the public are invited to attend a free talk by Dr. Robert Moog, who invented the first line of electronic synthesizers in 1964. He will be discussing the history and construction of synthesizers, as well as giving an overview of the principles of sound synthesis. Dr. Moog has a PhD in Engineering Physics from Cornell University and honorary doctorates from Polytechnic University and Lycoming College. He has written and spoken extensively on a variety of topics in music technology and has contributed major articles to Encyclopaedia Britannica and the Encyclopaedia of Applied Physics.
