Out Here Records was started in 2004 and represents the growing tide of young urban music from all over the world. A mix of Hip Hop, Reggae or Salsa fused with local elements is popping up all over the planet. The days of regional thinking are over, where Africans play the drums and dance all day, Indians burn incense and Bavarians drink beer. Exotism is for tourists. It’s time to listen to the fully globalised youth telling its story. So wake up & welcome to what’s out here.
Release march 29th 2004: Oumy N´Diaye, Mina Sall and Myriame Diallo founded the first Senegalese female rap group Alif “Attaque Libératoire de l’Infanterie Féministe” in 1997. Just like most rappers from Dakar/Senegal, Alif see themselves as the voice of their generation. They are like the title of the CD says the Dakamerap: the camera that documents everything happening in Dakar 24 h a day. Other release dates 2004: June 2004 X Plastaz - Masaai HipHop (Tansania) September 2004 - Bongo Flava (a Compilation of Tansanian HipHop) Distribution: Hausmusik/Indigo If you like to get some promo material please contact us:
