Ask anyone to describe one of today's Hip Hop artists, and they'll portray them with lots of hard talk, street swagger and raw energy. While newcomer Jace embodies these characteristics, he also possesses a few you don't expect from one so young; a genuine interest in his community, a philanthropist spirit and a yearning to keep in touch with his roots on the streets of Newark, NJ.

In an industry filled with studio gangsters and iced out rappers who have lost touch with their beginnings, Jace fills the gap left by those who have forgotten the streets. Being raised in one of New Jersey's roughest areas was both tough and a learning experience. Jace knows this isn't what makes him unique, since many youth face the same struggles in economically challenged areas all over the country, yet this is still what he uses to reach his audience. "I'm motivated to write songs about what's going on around me," he says, "I can't help it, it keeps me hungry."

Having opened for the likes of Jay Z, The Notorious B.I.G., M.O.P., Black Rob, The Boot Camp Clik, A.Z. and Nas, just to name a few hasn't undermined his desire to give back to his community and people in need. After coming off tour, Jace invested back into his community by putting up new basketball courts in Bradley Court Projects (where he is from.) Jace also performed for Atlantic County Special Services for the Handicapped in Atlantic City, and in New York for LifeBEAT, an organization for people living with HIV and many others. "There's a lot of people who have even less than me," says Jace solemnly, "and if I can make them feel better in some way, then I would like to do that."

Overall, the sound of Jace's debut album is both current and potent. Besides producing some of the tracks himself, Jace has utilized the assistance of some very savvy producers to make this project 100% effective. Production credits include Ben Rebel (Pato Banton, Beams Of Light remixes & Lost Children (Tribal /IRS), 40 Deuce (Aaron Hall, Christopher Williams), Kayama (Mary J Blige), Soul Diggaz (Beyonce, Missy) and Keeb (Money Green). This impressive stable of producers makes Jace's first album one that should make both the streets and the industry take note.

Stepping out of the badlands of Brick City aka Newark, New Jersey with an open heart, a mic in one hand and a repertoire of rugged lyrics, Jace is determined to establish himself as one of the top players in the game.
