Cape Town based Afrikaans Hip Hop group Kallitz' launch of their debut album "Die Ding Ruk Mal" at 21:00 on Tuesday, 15 June 2004 in Long Street Café, Long Street Cape Town will be a watershed in SA music. This comes after Kallitz have already received much public- and media acclaim, long before their much awaited album hits Musica stores on Monday, 14 June 2004 for the incredible price of R 69.95 for 16 original, hot off the press hip hop trax plus a music video. And if that isn't enough, 10% of the album's first print run was sold within hours of Kallitz' record company Mothermix Records having received it from the manufacturers - all going to fans who pre-ordered the CD. Features, interviews, articles and CD reviews in, among others Die Kaapse Son, Rapport and Blunt Magazine, television programs Geraas and Kwela, as well as radio shows on RSG, Bush Radio, UCT Radio, MFM, FM Radio and Discom Vibes, have all praised Kallitz as the emergence of a new music sensation on the SA music scene. The much anticipated Kallitz CD Launch Party has drawn tremendous response, with company heavyweights from adidas, Harley Davidson, Citroen or Cell C, music industry professionals from BMG and EMI, music promoters from various Cape Town venues and events, including North Sea Jazz Festival organizer esp Africa, Western Province and Swiss Government officials, as well as representatives from retailer Musica, having already accepted Kallitz' invitation to join them, together with a plethora of media and celebs from Cape Towns 'A-List'. Promotion for the up coming release is running at full throttle, with competitions to win a copy of the much sought after album "die ding ruk mal" and VIP tickets for Kallitz' CD Launch Party being run by Die Kaapse Son, Blitz, Bush Radio, UCT Radio and MFM. In addition the event is advertised with radio spots, posters and flyers. Kallitz secured partnerships from Die Kaapse Son, Bush Radio, UCT Radio, MFM and Caps 4 Africa, who will equip the band and are also the merchandising partner for headwear. Fans can catch a pre-glimpse of Kallitz at 14:00 on Saturday, 12 June 2004 at CD Wherehouse, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. Invited guests will be welcomed at the launch party with a Red Bull / Champagne Cocktail and finger buffet at 18:30, before enjoying the show from 19:30 till 20:30.
