One can not talk about Senegalese Hip-Hop it without mentioning Sen Kumpa. Although the group has since changed the lineup they have certainly not changed their direction or their wavered from their vision...

Sen Kumpa got their start on the streets of Medina (one of Dakar's rougher neighborhoods). After befriending local producer Rader Rawkus they began producing a strew of hits on local comps. 

In 2001 Sen Kumpa recorded the classic "Deglu Xel" (featured on African Underground Vol. 1).



Today Sen Kumpa are just as hard-hitting and intense as they ever were. Look out for a locally produced album within the year.
