A few years back we got a cd called "Ball'n, Play'n and Parlay'n" and ever since we been tracking Xtac. He recently appeared on the Murder Dog Kansas City compilation and they say he's the "next big thing" in that area. We have no doubt about that. Read on for the full transcript...

How you doing these days? 

I'm good. Slow motion like the Matrix, ya dig?

How old are you? 

25

Can you start off by telling us how you got into the hip-hop game? What influenced you? 

My older brother took me to a Slick Rick Concert, I saw all the jewellery and just the way Slick Rick was he mesmerized me. After that I knew I had to be a rapper.

What's the hip hop scene like in your town/city? 

DEAD! I mean, we got Rappers, Indy Labels, But no clubs, no support from the city anymore.

Is DP Entertainment still in existence? 

Aw Fasho. Droppin' Platinum Ent. Is rollin strong. I'm there's only 3 artist on the label now that's Me, Big Chris and .50 Kal.

I remember about 2 years back I received your cd "Ball'n, Play'n & Parlay'n" and it's still something I listen today. To me that album just came through
so real. How did that album do?

It did good, We got distribution with Southwest Wholesale in Houston, Tx. sold about 3,000 units but they went bankrupt on us and that was that.

Let me run through some of my best songs on that album, they are "Gangsta Sh*t", "816 Hardhitters" and "It's My Thang". What do you think were 
the dopest ones on there?

The one's you named... 

Was this album your first? 

yeah.

I noticed that you did most of the beats on your album. What equipment / software do you use to make beats? 

Roland XP 80 AND the Korg Trinity.

Do you have your own equipment or do you have to rent studio time to make your beats? 

We have our own studio.

Would you ever consider doing collabo's with African emcees? 

Hell Yea. I think that would be off the chain.

Do you still speak to Lil Clee, Bugzy Siegel, Ferm Grip, Reonne Cooksey, El Dogg and A.Q.? 

Lil Clee is my lil cousin, Me and Bugzy, Ferm grip A.q. Fell out they Wankstas Niggas that was trying to get on but not work. Reonne is actually signed to Def Jam and EL Dogg changed his named to El Goldmouth but that's my best friend Traside till we die.

Why did you go to jail? 

Conspiracy of sales

How long were you there for? 

2yrs. 10 months 8 days.

What was it like? 

It was hell, but a learning experience. Taught me how to be on my own and depend on myself. Be strong have faith in God and keep my head up.

Tell us about your group Tha Killer Unit. Who's all in it? 

Tha Killa Unit no longer exist.

You told me that you released an album with Tha Killer Unit, how's it doing right now? Who does production? 

Yea it was hot 2, I did all the production and we sold 5,000 plus units on the streets before we hit retail then did another 4,700 in the stores.

Anybody featuring on this album? 

Mr. Serv-On formally with No Limit

Which artists are you feeling right now? 

Jim Jones, Shyne, Lil Wayne, Mannie Fresh, Usher, B.G., Ciarra, Young Buck, the whole G Unit. And Me.

Which artists would you like to do a collabo with? 

Out The Gate, Jim Jones, Dirty, 3-6 Mafia real niggas ya heard.

I heard that song "Mr So Heavy" that you sent me, you said it was number one in the Midwest and that you were shopping for a deal. Have you managed 
to conclude any deals yet? 

Man I'm still listening to the offers none of them sound right yet, but I'm still working my own ish independent. New Group G.ame O.va I'll be sendind you tracks on this soon.

What food does XtaC eat? 

Chicken, Mexican, Steak, Seafood

Your favourite alcoholic beverage? 

NO LIQUOR. X DOESN'T DRINK.

How is support for local acts on your radio/tv stations? 

The Station here KPRS 103.3 Doesn't really support the locals and TV never deals with us.

What albums were you listening to this week? 

G.ame O.va- The Unexpected,  Shyne-Godfather buried alive, and Jim Jones- On my way to Church.

Do you have female groupies? 

Dog I don't F*** with the Groupies,. THEM HOES CRRRAAAAZZYYYY!!!!

Where is the best place to write your lyrics (many claim that the toilet is the best). 

On The floor.

I heard in some of your songs you mention Baton Rouge, Houston, Louisiana and New Orleans. What crazy places have you been to? 

It get's crazy everywhere I go, but I like Denver, Co. St Louis, Mo., Love Las Vegas.

Do you often do live performances and if so what was your favourite show to date? 

My favorite show was when I opened for The Big Tymers In St. Louis back in June.

What thing in life do you regret doing?

I don't regret anything in life, but if I did it would be not listening to my moms early in life. If I would have I probably wouldn't deal with so many fake ass people.
