On Sat 12th February, South Africa’s finest Rock, Punk and Hip Hop artists come together to stage the first in a series of concerts targeting the awareness and alleviation of the AIDS epidemic that abounds in our country. Cape Town waits with baited breath as Levi Strauss South Africa and 5FM Music present Rage for the Revolution.
Public anticipation and media interest is unparalleled and the event will undoubtedly become a landmark affair on everyone’s musical calendar. As the final preparations and finishing touches are added by the OppiKoppi production squad, ticket sales are soaring, and with the limit set at 3000 tickets, that ceiling should be reached well before the first chords are struck. Tickets are available at Levi’s® stores throughout Cape Town at R50, and R60 at Computicket. Thanks to the benevolence of the sponsors involved, all ticket revenue will be donated to the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC), to stop the spread of AIDS and assist people living with HIV/AIDS. Ready D and Mr. Fat have clambered on board as the host emcees for the day and will be doing their bit at The Castle, between sets by our leading lights of the music industry. As we go forward in our fight against AIDS, let us support our artists in their quest and remember past mistakes while looking forward to a prosperous future where we prevail over this lethal affliction that threatens our youth and our future as Africa’s leading nation.
