The kasie tour brings hip hop to the masses in the townships.

This is necessary because hip hop has been stereotyped as a suburban phenomenon. 

Picking up fresh from last year’s success of the tour, which only featured Skwatta Kamp, BUTTABING ENTERTAINMENT once again brings out the tour for 2005 but this time around invite other hip hop artists to reach out to the masses. 

The first venue was Vosloorus at Nandi Nice on Friday, 4 February 2005. This venue was filled to capacity with over 5000 people and still more battling to get in at the entrance to witness the spectacle.

This re-affirmed the impact local hip hop has to the masses and also proved that the power of unity in local hip hop .can move mountains.

The masses were very receptive and all the performers were at their best. Pro-Kid won the crowds favour with rhymes and delivery, My Man had the crowd singing songs they’ve never heard from his up and coming album, HHP had the whole venue singing Harambe and Tswaka. Skwatta Kamp got on stage and it got crazy like it always does.

It was great hearing people respond to the calls of all the performers with enthusiasm.

This was definitely a night where hip hop reigned and the people came in numbers to support us, that is local hip 

The SKWATTA KAMP AND FRIENDS KASIE TOUR 2005 continues to other locations with the following artists SYPHO, Mr Selwyn, Zulu Mobb, Hidden Force, Wicked, Pro-Kid, Baphixile , HHP, MY MAN and of course Skwatta Kamp. 

So the masses are urged to come out and support local hip hop coming to their hoods in full colour.
