Nomadic Wax Records and World Up! team up to celebrate the US release of African Underground Vol.1:Hip Hop Senegal, which has seen an overwhelming response with its first release in Africa. The compilation boasts 14 tracks from Africa’s illest MCs and has been making waves across the US, Europe and Africa. This collaboration helps celebrate how Hip Hop has been able to cross both cultural and economic boundaries, promote education and provide a platform to celebrate the global culture of Hip Hop. World Up! is working to bring Hip Hop communities together not only to strengthen the collective voice of Hip Hop, but also to create a global community for artists from around the world to share the common love for Hip Hop. In an effort to strengthen international solidarity amongst the Hip Hop communities, World Up! will continue to host numerous events to serve as a forum for open cultural exchange by promoting the much needed diversity and tolerance within a powerful cultural movement whilst maintaining the core of the culture, to rock the party. Nomadic Wax is a mobile "guerilla-style" production company and record label dedicated to recording, producing, and distributing hip-hop talent from Africa. African Underground Vol. 1 "Hip-Hop Senegal" is the world’s first African hip-hop compilation produced for international release. Today Nomadic Wax has successfully produced over 54 of Senegal’s most talented hip-hop groups. With the advent of portable digital studio technology, Nomadic Wax is able to record on location, thus reaching even in the most remote areas.
