I thought Tumi  / proverb would take it last year. Tumi had two dope albums on the nominations list and they still gave it to Flabba.

 HHP seems to have things going his way at the moment. the dancing thing, the Mzansi award show (who watched this?), etc. only Zwai stands in his way!

there's way too many award shows in SA right now. But I think our music industry is big enough for one more. some are based on genres. e.g. SA Gospel Music Awards ( i think Zwai was one of the winners in their show last year. lucky dude. now he's in line to win a SAMA for Best hip hop album), there's also Traditional / mbaqanga Music Awards or something like that  - I think Ukhozi Fm is one of the main sponsors of this, etc ) none of these is as big as the SAMAS, but it seems as if they are at least considered credible by the followers of those genres.   hip hop is a much smaller genre in terms of sales and popularity with the general public, but this would not have to be something as big as the SAMAs.  Would be expensive though.  good idea if sponsors can be found. maybe when Hype has a circulation of 40 000, stronger advertising revenue, etc / is much more stable.   having said that, i'd rather see Hype doing Hype Live Sessions troughout the country rather than an AWARD CEREMONY.
