Hey

I was looking to get some feedback from some of the users about what they like most about Africasgateway?

Do you guys make use of the forum alone? What do you think about the main site? What changes would you like seen? etc

I used to make use of the home page but it hasn't been  updated in yonks so I've lost interest...

If the content was updated more frequently. Would you be swayed into using it again? If so, what sort of additions would you like to see to it?

Honestly, it's a hell of a clattered. Sometime I never know where to start reading cause it just seems like info overload (and it doesn't help that it's old news)

to be honest i have just never been bothered to look at the home page...

maybe it should be updated more often like you have suggested, coz it looks the same to me all the time.

Im an addict. i log on everyday. And one thing that i would say needs a bit of work is the updates we've been promised??
The blogs and stuff. Apart from that all is good.
Why don't we also have a set of rules for each section of the forum so people know their limits(mad rapper them)... its not nice always having to lock up these things.

These are just my thoughts...

1. A forum media player where a selection of beats or trax by users can be uploaded. This might be the first forum to have that. Despite this not being a blog, a different track selection can be put up on the Home page....

2. The layout should have a spectrum of colors and images, ie. "LATEST POST" having maybe a book or chalkboard displaying recent posts...I know it takes space to include it in script, but will attract users and guests...with modifications to the "ShoutBox!" too.

3. An invitation to join certain topics by regular users. ie. If there's a "Producer challenge" post, a user has to get an invite to post, vote or whatever from either or the thread creator. This will curb thread derailment and unnecessary posts.

4. Creating a poll is one thing, but editing it sometimes can be a pain, pls look into that.

I had a few ideas, bt becuz Im working I'll draft them out and post later.

im feeling this mediaplayer thing, also the polls and latest post. All good ideas. Nyambz also think in the lines of graphix, maybe have a spot for that on the home page... Maybe have kats battle it out and winner gets the spot the. And also with the producer battles, have the winners beat playing on the home page

Strange thing is i used to visit AG to read hip hop news on the home page, a year before i even joined the forums... Then, the news was updated frequently, and there were links to some tracks for download, I didn't even bother to join the forums dude to the fact that the forum community was at its infant stage. I guess with the number of registered users reaching thousands, there's a lot of activity in the forums, hence me stuck to them... As of recent, i would peep the home page for the podcast, which is now AWOL, so i don't bother; this has become my default AG link : http://www.africasgateway.com/forums/index.php.  I sometimes forget a home page exists
