I was 9 or 10 when Mandela was released form prison.

I was at my grandma's place in Kimberley and Mandela was supposed to visit the city that week.

Then I heard my cousins and the neighbours talking about how they "don't want that damn k****** in our city."

I was confused as fuck. Until then all the people around me seemed happy that dude was free. They all spoke about how he was gonna be the next pres.

I asked my dad why these people were saying that. He told me that some coloured people thought they were better than black people and that they are stupid, cos we are all essentially black people. The only difference is that the apartheid government divided us and made us hate each other.

Since then I started having an interest in politics and especially issues of race.

But it seems the apartheid government were super-effective when it comes to dividing and spreading hate.
People still argue with me when I say I am black. Some even hate me for it, because they consider their blackness as something exclusive that I'm not allowed to be part of. You know who you are.

He was one of the many kids kidnapped by the Jesuit priests and kept at a missionary school. they also took a some kids from other french colonised countries. he was 4 years old when he got kidnapped in the name of the God and the beat the shit out of him when he questioned why he cant go home. he ran away from the mission school when he was 20.

They were all forbiden to speak their home languages, any kid he broke the rule would have to wear a decaying skull of a goal around his neck until another kid breaks the rule. Fuck! Ask yourself why Africa has fucked up leaders.

On a Aussie note, you should see (or probably have seen) Rabbit Proof Fence. It was about three Aboriginal girls that were kidnapped from their parents and sent to a conformist camp because from the 1920s-1970s, the Australian government wanted to conform Aborigines into Euro-Australian culture. They were forced to forget their languages and abandon their traditions.

The Aborigines were treated like the Native Americans but worst. They had
their land stolen from them, and some were obviously killed by Whites. They still live in poverty in the reservation, even worst by Native American or Maori (New Zealand)
standards.

one of my friends who schooled at a multi-racial/predominatly white school, he was subconsciously saying what he really is, a white goon in a black man skin.
by now i think the dude is trying to go back to being black.

i used to attend "sokkies" at their school back in the days, and we would find we just a few bunch of blacks in the party, and to topple it off, we have to run outta town back to the hood soon as the show ends. then, i realised that brainwashing is easy, all of us black kids there used to dance like we had no sense of rhythm, just throwing our hands up and banging heads. it was nice for a while until i realised that this punk is just taking us along to these sokkies as his cronies for the after show protection, yet he claimed to be tight with the white boys like that.
