Looks good
My only concern is that there always seems to be a lack of involvement AHHI has with the greater hip hop communities in the country making it very hard for people in provinces outside the Cape/s to get involved and properly support the initiative.
Its a good thing that AHHI is hosting other nations this year but it would be nice if the other provinces could be involved in it somehow. As it is, it seems like an operation run by a clique without any intention of opening doors to see where others could a**ist. I don't know how it is in other provinces but theres little to know promotion in Gauteng. Its a shame that more is done to promote the show in other external areas when the initiative is so segregated.
Perhaps its just me who see's it that way?

Peace
In other areas its been run by different people for a while. Gauteng has always been difficult to get involved because we request that whoever hosts the event raise the money for the best dancers, DJ, MC to travel to Cape Town, so very few people want to a**ist if they do not make all the money from the door or even just benefit the most from the event. People say that thats the real reason why Gauteng has been very quiet when it comes to this event. I dont know about that, cause I know that many community events happen in Gauteng, maybe it jut needs to be embraced by someone on that side. It is more about a**isting Hip Hoppers, instead of self enrichment. This does not mean that the organiser cant make some cash from it, its just more work to get the funders to a**ist.
So ... maybe you want to get involved in hosting the event in Gauteng. See, its not a funded event, so we do everything out of our own pocket and thats what makes it hard to get it advertised nationally. We have been running the event since 1999 and have people who make it happen in East London, Port Elizabeth, Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Ceres, Malmesbury ... See its just difficult to get people who have a pa**ion and are willing to work without the help of corporates in all areas. I have wondered about the lack of people involved in Gauteng for a while and some people have told me that in other areas throughout the country heads don't get the big companies helping them with events, so they are use to doing things themselves and hip hop is more of a community thing than a money thing ??? Not sure if its that, but if you wanna help make it happen in Gauteng, feel free to get in touch and a**ist in making it happen. We work outside of the sponsorship world because we know that we have to make this work irrespective of them and more because of us. Hope to have you helping ...
Peace
