Title: Service delivery protests
Post by: The Angry Hand of God on December 02, 2009, 05:42:13 PM
These pics I took a few weeks ago. It was hot as hell that day too and I had to run after these nice people, who were being chased by the cops and getting rubber bullets fired at them.

All because they want better service and to be treated as human beings.

There were three service delivery protests that week, two of them turned violent.
I am going to another one tomorrow morning.

At all the previous ones, people vowed that the world cup will become a disaster if their needs are not met, because they will f*** things up. I don't know how serious they were.

How long do you think its gonna be before people start organising themselves into proper units of dissent and taking it to the powers that be hardcore?

I hope it is soon. On the other hand, I have very little faith in people's ability to see through the bullshit. I'm ure come 2010 WC, they will be content with a few free tickets and a promise of better football for all.

Anyway, there are more and cooler pics on my facebook profile for those who have access. I'm too lazy to post them here.
