No. It use to be but it changed in 2008 I think cause they realised that too many people were being arrested in those restaurant in the streets in CT. So go outside and have a beer.

are you sure? I thought it was ok as long as you at a restaurant table, but surely if you traipsing down the main drag, swigging from a bottle of moderately priced Shiraz the 5-0 might take issue?

You get fined for it, not sure if you can get arrested. last december i was fined when i was cought leaving the beach with an open bottle of alcohol by some security/police who were about to start their shift :-/ . it was early in the morning.

No. I was talking shit. Depending on who you are and where your luck lies then you can either get arrested or fined but you do get a record.

Been arrested twice in Pta and once in Jhb for this, Had to pay R300 fine, they call it "admission of guilt" and if you don't, you have to appear in court.
Dont think they'll keep a criminal record though cos the don't even take your prints and you can tell them the wrong name...
Was in PE some time ago, was walking in the street with a gla** of whisky in my hand (dont ask why). Anyway this copper steps up to me and I was convinced that I was gettin arrested, To my surprise he just took the gla**, poured the contents out on the pavement and told me to keep it moving...Ma boys who are based there told me its very rare that you'd get arrested for public drinkin there...Wish GP was like that...

lol, Had whisky in the car, and we were at a street parking waitin on some peeps who were gon join us to go to a spot were we were gon chill for the night...guess they were takin too long and I decided f*** it, I'll have a shot while I wait...
Think I crossed over to holla at someone when I was spotted by the po-po...

i was arrested by a convoy of cops just lask week for something of this nature. i was towning a bottle of marzen gold and i happened to be outside the tarven premisses, whlst im tryina convince her to let me hit it. this old madala takes my booze and does a cricket 6 with it, then he cuffs me, wtf how do u cuff a drunk skinny nigga like me? i think the police are taking this seriousy. they shud only take the booze!
