Title: The Biz of music
Post by: TNGlive on November 19, 2004, 03:39:00 AM
"Eminem has just signed a multi-million dollar publishing deal with EMI for his recent release, Encore.

Slim usually signs separate publishing deals for each album and opted for EMI for his fourth effort. The agreement provides EMI with the international rights to the album.

Sources say the deal is worth close to $7.5 million and includes the publishing rights to the 8 Mile soundtrack."
------------

That´s freaken clever. Never thought of that being a possibility.
Paid crazy regardless of the destined flop of that joint.

I really dont like eminem. i never did. i think he is just a wannabe nigga. even though his albums are selling good i still dont like him. in his new song "Just Lose It" he just makes himself look like a fool. i dont like the way he mocks michael jackson. personally even though michael is changed, i think he is still the best dancer ever.

i hate his music but at the end of the day, b4 eminem went hollywood thug he was ill as hell. now it sounds like his influences are fifty cents n bubba sparks. the last tight album he dropped was slim shady lp hands down.from then on it was a downward spiral.

I enjoyed his last offering quite alot.I do however think his deepest offering was not the first full LP, but rather his Marshall Mathers LP.That was dark record and really hit home.

But hey, this one could be his last LP too.I mean, he´s got so much on his plate, almost like Jigga now..........business, and all other ventures.Think he needs to take a break from recording and just do features here and there and put new artists on.Mould them, show them the ropes and create some hotness. He has major skills and can help other getting into the game to enhance what they have with what we learnt.Seriously.

I liked Marshall Mathers...def hit home on different levels, what´s interesting for me about the music business, now that hip hop is regarded as  popular music is who determines what´s popular...the people or record companies and radio stations ,is the tail wagging the dog? anyway regardless of what you think of eminem you gotta respekt his skillz, unique approach and he´s got the ballz to speak his mind ,get away with it and get paid .

He´s definitely made his mark  8-)
